Dr. Ashanti Johnson: Executive Administrator, Educator, Research Scientist and Professional Mentor

Dr. Johnson is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Superintendent of Cirrus Academy Charter School.  She is founder of the Minorities Striving and Pursuing Higher Degrees of Success Professional Development and Mentoring Institute (MS PHD’S PDMI) and STEM Human Resource Development, Inc. (STEM HRD, Inc.).  She also currently serves as Associate Professor at Mercer University.  She is the former Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Recruitment at the University of Texas at Arlington. She also served the public for years as the Executive Director of the Institute for Broadening Participation.  Dr. Johnson holds a Ph.D in Radio-Chemical Oceanography from Texas A&M University and a B.S., Marine Science from Texas A&M University-Galveston. 

President Barak Obama awarded Dr. Ashanti Johnson the 2009 Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Mathematics Engineering and Mentoring (PAESMEM) at the White House as a result of her dedication towards facilitating the participation of underrepresented minorities in STEM programs and careers throughout the United States of America.

Dr. Johnson has helped and continues to help hundreds of minority students pursue advanced degrees in STEM disciplines at major universities throughout the United States.

Dr. Andrew C. Green: Innovative Entrepreneur, Inventor, Multi-year Business Owner

Andrew Green was inspired to create Sportin' The Grades many years ago by the late Professor John Hogg.  Dr. Hogg served as the Chief Undergraduate Chemistry Advisor for Texas A&M University. For over a decade Dr. Hogg demonstrated his passion for STEM enrichment in youth by donating his time to perform chemistry shows for the elementary kids throughout Bryan-College Station.  He was a very close friend to Dr. Green; along with Dr. David Bergbrieter (Organic Chemistry Professor, Texas A&M University) and Dr. Kenneth Poenisch (Associate Vice Chancellor of Texas A&M University System).
